These “before and after” photos of a telecommunications closet illustrates our challenge to clean up an existing installation without bringing users down for an extended period of time. Using the customer’s existing rack, we rewired the customer’s building with Category 6 UTP and removed several legacy systems.

Per our customer’s request, we did not remove the 50-pair feeder in the upper right-hand corner that feeds the bix block. We did, however, remove the station cabling, fished the wall for a clear installation, and pulled the station cabling for the new gigabix phone block from behind the wall.

The result? A much cleaner and more space-efficient installation. We met our customer’s budget and made the most of the existing fixtures. In addition, we freed up rack space for a planned fiber cabinet in the future.
